About Us
Gatwick Construction Limited (GCL) is a principal contractor delivering a wide range of civil engineering, infrastructure, maintenance and building projects at London Gatwick Airport. Due to continued growth and the award of major Airside and Landside Framework Agreements, we are looking to recruit an ambitious Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Administrator to join our expanding commercial team.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop a long-term career within a fast-paced airport environment, working on NEC4 Framework and Call-Off Contracts across a diverse portfolio of projects.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Commercial Manager, you will provide commercial support across multiple framework projects from tender stage through to final account.
You will play a key role in:
- Commercial administration of NEC4 Framework and Call-Off Contracts.
- Managing compensation events, quotations and change control.
- Preparing and reviewing subcontract orders and applications.
- Producing monthly cost/value reconciliations.
- Preparing payment applications and supporting documentation.
- Managing project forecasts and cashflow reporting.
- Assisting with procurement and subcontract management.
- Maintaining commercial records and audit trails.
- Reviewing project risks, opportunities and contractual obligations.
- Supporting tender preparation, estimates and cost planning.
- Liaising with operational teams, clients and subcontractors.
- Assisting with final accounts and project close out.
Requirements
We are looking for someone who possesses:
Essential
- Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or Construction-related qualification.
- Experience working within the construction, civil engineering or infrastructure sectors.
- Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
- Good understanding of contract administration.
- Excellent Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
- Strong communication and organisational abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Desirable
- Experience working under NEC3 or NEC4 contracts.
- Previous airport, highways, rail or infrastructure experience.
- Experience managing compensation events and change control.
- Knowledge of framework agreements and call-off contracts.
- Working towards or holding RICS, ICES or CIOB membership.
