Eastfield Residential Home is a small, homely service supporting up to 25 residents who have mental health conditions.
We are looking for a reliable, hardworking, and compassionate Domestic Assistant to join our friendly team within our residential care home for 25 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
As a Domestic Assistant, you will play an important role in ensuring our home remains clean, safe, comfortable, and welcoming for our residents, visitors, and staff. Your work will directly contribute to the wellbeing, dignity, and quality of life of the people we support.
Key Responsibilities
- Cleaning resident bedrooms, bathrooms, communal areas, lounges, dining rooms, offices, and staff facilities.
- Vacuuming, mopping, dusting, polishing, and sanitising designated areas.
- Cleaning and disinfecting high-touch surfaces.
- Emptying waste bins and disposing of waste appropriately.
- Maintaining excellent infection prevention and control standards.
- Following cleaning schedules and completing cleaning records accurately.
- Ensuring cleaning products and equipment are used safely and stored correctly.
- Monitoring stock levels of cleaning supplies and PPE.
- Reporting maintenance issues, hazards, and concerns promptly.
- Working closely with colleagues to maintain a safe and pleasant environment for residents.
What We're Looking For
- Previous cleaning experience (care home, healthcare, hospitality, or commercial cleaning experience desirable).
- Good understanding of hygiene and infection control practices.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions.
- Good attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness.
- Caring and respectful approach towards our residents.
- Understanding of health and safety responsibilities.
- Willingness to undertake training and follow company policies and procedures.
Successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory references and an enhanced DBS check.
