Welfare and Family Liaison Officer (Term Time Only)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 3:00pm
Salary: £24,000 – £28,000 pro rata (dependent upon experience)

We are seeking a compassionate, resilient and highly organised Welfare and Family Liaison Officer to support pupils with Special Educational Needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and ADHD.
The successful candidate will work closely with children and families where attendance is a concern, particularly pupils who are unable to attend school due to anxiety, emotional needs, previous incidents within school, or other barriers to engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct welfare and attendance visits to pupils' homes.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and carers.
- Support children in overcoming barriers to school attendance.
- Work alongside safeguarding leads and senior leaders.
- Liaise with external agencies, social workers and local authorities where required.
- Maintain accurate records, reports and case notes.
- Support reintegration plans for pupils returning to school.
- Promote pupil wellbeing and engagement with education.
Essential Requirements:
- Experience working with children and young people, particularly those with SEND.
- Understanding of Autism, ADHD and anxiety-related school avoidance.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a caseload.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
Desirable:
- Previous experience in education welfare, attendance, safeguarding or family support.
- Knowledge of SEND legislation and safeguarding procedures.
- Experience working within a school environment.
