Overview
We are looking for a qualified Head Dental Nurse seeking a new and exciting opportunity at our boutique private dental clinic. We are a small team with 3/4 members of staff including the dentists. Our philosophy is quality over quantity, which is reflected in our approach and in our patient care.
This is a UNIQUE opportunity where we will assist in developing your training in implant nursing / other professional qualifications to grow your existing skill set.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified dental nurse to start ASAP and become involved in our exclusive modern private dental practice.
You will work very closely with the principal dentist on Monday, Wednesdays & Thursdays (clinical days). There is an opportunity to also undertake practice management roles and can consider eventually increasing the role from 3 days to 4 days once settled into the clinic. This will allow both diversity and flexibility within the role.
You must be Confident and Personable - An excellent telephone manner is mandatory with proficient skills in oral and written English.
Our clinic is fitted with several new technological investments such as Intra-oral scanning, CBCT & Lasers with a fully computerised system. Interview candidates will be given a tour of the premises.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain dental equipment, instruments, and materials within the surgery.
- Execute infection control and decontamination procedures rigorously.
- Accurately record dental charting conducted by clinicians.
- Skillfully prepare, mix, and handle dental materials.
- Manage compliance and regulation.
- Provide chair-side support during a range of specialist dental procedures.
- Offer compassionate support and reassurance to patients throughout their visit.
- Assist with reception and administration tasks such as appointment scheduling, payment processing, and paperwork management.
- Undertake some front of house duties to ensure a seamless patient experience.
- Reception - must be able to work both as a nurse (on clinical days) and receptionist (admin days).

Duties (when required on non-clinical days)
- Marketing strategies, social media creation/management
- Raising Local community awareness
- Schedule and confirm appointments, ensuring efficient use of the dentist's time.
- Maintain accurate patient records and manage electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Handle incoming calls, respond to inquiries, and provide information about services offered.
- Process patient payments and manage billing inquiries with professionalism.
- Collaborate with dental staff to ensure smooth operations within the practice.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organised premises (interior & exterior).
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding treatment plans and follow-up appointments.
Requirements
- GDC Registered dental nursing qualification
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with proficiency in English.
- IT skills and training with SOE (advantageous) for managing appointment scheduling software and electronic health records.
- Dental nursing experience (1 year minimum)
- Implant dental nursing experience would be beneficial but not essential (training can be provided for the right candidate)
- Enhanced DBS check approval
- Hepatitis B vaccination (2 doses)
