About the Role
We are looking for a Bench Joiner / Cabinet Maker to join our growing workshop team in Wadebridge.
We design and manufacture high-quality fitted furniture, including bespoke kitchens, wardrobes, dressing rooms, media units and other made-to-measure cabinetry.
This is a varied workshop-based role, involving the manufacture and assembly of furniture from start to finish. You will be working from drawings and job sheets, using both traditional woodworking methods and modern machinery.
We are open to applications from experienced cabinet makers, as well as people with some workshop experience who are hardworking, reliable and keen to continue developing their skills.
Main Responsibilities
- Manufacturing bespoke fitted furniture and cabinetry.
- Building kitchens, wardrobes, media units and other fitted furniture.
- Reading and working from drawings, cutting lists and job sheets.
- Cutting, machining and assembling cabinetry accurately.
- Operating workshop machinery including panel saws, planer thicknessers, spindle moulders and bandsaws.
- Working with sheet materials, solid timber and veneered boards.
- Fitting hinges, runners and other cabinet hardware.
- Checking completed work to ensure a high standard of finish and accuracy.
- Keeping the workshop clean, organised and safe.
- Working independently and as part of a small team to meet deadlines.
What We Are Looking For
- Previous experience in cabinet making, bench joinery or furniture manufacturing.
- A good understanding of woodworking machinery and power tools.
- The ability to work accurately from drawings and measurements.
- Good attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work.
- A reliable, hardworking and positive attitude.
- The ability to manage your own workload and work as part of a team.
Applicants should ideally have their own basic hand and power tools. However, we do not expect you to own everything immediately, provided you are prepared to purchase additional tools gradually as required.
