Job description
The Warehouse Supervisor will lead daily Goods in and dispatch operations, manage a dedicated team and ensure delivery of all quality, productivity, budget targets and KPIs are achieved.
Key responsibilities:
- Oversee daily receiving, put-away, stock control, cycle counts, and dispatch activities.
- Lead and develop the Goods In team, setting performance goals, monitoring KPIs, and managing HR/disciplinary procedures.
- Drive continuous improvement (CI) projects and maintain a lean, efficient warehouse environment.
- Coordinate corrective actions for issues caused by deviations from agreed processes.
- Maintain high stock accuracy using ERP/SAGE systems in accordance with company policies.
- Enforce site Health and Safety protocols and coordinate first-line troubleshooting for equipment breakdowns.
- First point of contact for equipment breakdowns, investigate the problem, resolving if possible, if not contacting the relevant engineers in to resolve.
- Provide reporting to operations on the daily warehouse activities
- Implementation of all new and existing operational policies and procedures.
- Work closely with all other departments as necessary to ensure customer expectations are exceeded
Profile
Competencies, Experience and Key Skills:
- Previous supervisory or management experience desired
- Understanding of lean techniques would be advantageous.
- Experience in managing and motivating a team
- Excellent organisational & planning skills to be able to manage multiple projects
- Strong interpersonal skills and a confident communicator at all levels.
- Experience of operating PL and other stock management regimes
- Knowledge / experience of working in a small part distribution environment
- SAGE or ERP System knowledge and understand ways to optimise processes
- Ability to work in a physically demanding role
