Children's Residential Support Worker

We are seeking caring, resilient and dedicated Children's Residential Support Workers to join our team and help provide a safe, nurturing and supportive home environment for young people in residential care.
About the Role
As a Children's Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting children and young people who may have experienced trauma, adversity or challenging life circumstances. You will help them develop confidence, independence, life skills and positive relationships while ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality care and support to children and young people in a residential setting.
- Build positive, trusting and professional relationships with young people.
- Support children with their emotional, social, educational and behavioural development.
- Promote and safeguard the welfare of all children and young people.
- Assist with daily routines, including meal preparation, household tasks, personal care where appropriate and recreational activities.
- Support attendance at school, appointments and community activities.
- Maintain accurate records, reports and documentation in line with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, social workers and other professionals.
- Contribute to care planning and risk management processes.
- Participate in team meetings, training and supervision sessions.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A genuine passion for supporting children and young people.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
- Flexible approach to shift work, including sleep-ins and weekends.
Desirable:
- Experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable individuals.
- NVQ/QCF Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards it).
- Understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and trauma-informed care practices.
- Full UK driving licence
