We are seeking a motivated and passionate Commis Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in food preparation, support kitchen operations, and contribute to delivering exceptional dining experiences. Working hours 8am - 4pm
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing ingredients and cooking dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Support senior chefs in food presentation and plating to ensure visual appeal
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness within the kitchen
- Organise workstations efficiently to optimise workflow during busy service periods
- Supervise junior kitchen staff when required, providing guidance and support
- Ensure all food production processes comply with health and safety regulations
- Contribute to menu development ideas and seasonal dish offerings
- Assist with stock control, including receiving deliveries and storing ingredients appropriately
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations within a hospitality or restaurant setting
- Strong understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with supervising experience or team management skills
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure
- Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and front-of-house staff
- Passion for culinary arts with a keen eye for detail in food presentation
- Knowledge of food production processes and restaurant service procedures
- Ability to work flexibly within a fast-paced environment, maintaining professionalism at all times
