Are you an experienced Housekeeping Supervisor, Head Housekeeper or Hospitality Manager looking for your next leadership challenge?
At Elm Lodge Care Home, we're looking for an exceptional Head of Housekeeping to lead our housekeeping and laundry teams, ensuring our residents enjoy a clean, safe, welcoming and hotel-quality environment every single day.
This is more than a housekeeping role. You'll be a key member of the management team, responsible for driving high standards, leading staff, managing budgets and stock, maintaining infection prevention standards and ensuring the home remains inspection-ready at all times.
What You'll Be Doing
✔ Leading and motivating the housekeeping and laundry teams
✔ Ensuring exceptional cleanliness and presentation standards throughout the home
✔ Managing cleaning schedules, deep cleans and quality audits
✔ Overseeing infection prevention and control practices
✔ Taking ownership of departmental budgets and resources
✔ Managing stock control, ordering and procurement of all housekeeping, laundry, PPE and cleaning supplies
✔ Ensuring stock levels are maintained at appropriate levels at all times, with no avoidable shortages
✔ Conducting monthly stock audits and implementing effective stock management systems
✔ Supporting recruitment, induction, supervision and development of team members
✔ Working closely with residents, relatives and colleagues to deliver an outstanding living environment
✔ Maintaining full compliance with CQC standards, Health & Safety and COSHH requirements
What We're Looking For
Essential
✅ Previous housekeeping supervisory or management experience
✅ Strong leadership and people management skills
✅ Experience managing stock control, ordering and departmental budgets
✅ Knowledge of infection prevention and control
✅ Understanding of COSHH and Health & Safety requirements
✅ Excellent organisational and communication skills
✅ Ability to maintain exceptionally high standards and attention to detail
Desirable
⭐ Experience within a care home, nursing home, healthcare or hospitality environment
⭐ Experience preparing for inspections and audits
⭐ Leadership or management qualifications
⭐ Understanding of CQC standards and adult social care
