Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Goods In Team Leader to oversee the receipt, inspection, and management of incoming materials. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team to ensure efficient goods intake processes, maintaining accurate inventory records, and supporting continuous process improvements. This role requires strong leadership skills, extensive warehouse / Goods in experience, and a solid understanding of logistics and materials handling systems. The ideal applicant will possess knowledge, proficiency with warehouse management systems such as SAP, and experience operating forklifts. Duties
- Lead and supervise the Goods In team to ensure timely and accurate receipt of all incoming & goods.
- Oversee materials handling activities, including unloading, inspection, and storage of products.
- Utilise forklift trucks and other equipment safely to move heavy loads within the warehouse.
- Clean incoming equipment to appropriate standards in line with procedures
- Maintain accurate records using warehouse management systems (SAP) for inventory control and tracking.
- Coordinate with shipping & receiving teams to streamline processes and optimise workflow efficiency.
- Implement process improvements to enhance accuracy, safety, and productivity in goods intake procedures.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during all operations, including heavy lifting protocols.
- Manage stock levels and organise storage areas to facilitate easy access and minimise damage or loss.
- Support logistics planning in collaboration with warehouse providers to ensure smooth inbound operations.
- Attend client meeting and conduct regular team meetings to communicate updates, safety procedures, and performance expectations.
- Maintain a clean and organised warehouse environment, ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
Experience
- Proven experience in warehouse management or logistics roles,
- Strong background in materials handling, shipping & receiving, and warehouse operations.
- Demonstrable leadership skills with previous team management experience in a warehouse setting.
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems SAP or similar platforms.
- Knowledge related to warehouse equipment such as forklifts is highly desirable.
- Experience working with logistics providers and implementing process improvements is advantageous.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently over extended periods.
- Familiarity with materials handling equipment including forklifts is essential; certification is preferred but not mandatory.
- ADR trained (full training can be given for this).
