Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our bustling hospitality team. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment, supporting chefs and kitchen staff to deliver exceptional service. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for cleanliness and a proactive attitude, contributing to the smooth operation of our establishment.
Duties
- Washing and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots, and pans to ensure hygiene standards are met.
- Assisting with basic food preparation tasks under supervision, including peeling, chopping, and organising ingredients.
- Keeping the kitchen area clean and tidy throughout the shift, including floors, work surfaces, and storage areas.
- Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Supporting kitchen staff during busy periods by fetching supplies and ensuring equipment is ready for use.
- Ensuring all health and safety standards are adhered to at all times within the kitchen environment.
Skills
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting is advantageous but not essential.
- Knowledge of food preparation and basic cooking techniques is desirable.
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and hygiene standards within a professional environment.
- Strong organisational skills with an ability to prioritise tasks efficiently.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
- A proactive approach to maintaining cleanliness and safety standards in a fast-paced setting.
