About this opportunity:
Woofits is a dog daycare business. Established in 2013 by Allie Travis to cater for the growing needs of pet owners to find good quality care provided in a home environment. We are open from 7.00am until 6.00pm Monday to Thursday and 7.00am until 5.00pm on a Friday. We are closed on bank holidays and weekends. We have inside and outside areas for the dogs to play. We spend most of our time outside on our feet all day in all weathers, providing a fun-filled day for all the dogs.
A typical day for an apprentice at Woofits would be varied and active, as you help provide a day which will keep the dogs tails wagging until home time.
Duties will include:
Supporting staff on supervision of the dogs.
Cleaning and filling water bowls.
Assisting with feeding.
Cleaning inside and outside areas throughout the day.
Speaking to clients.
Using staff phones to record each of the dog’s activities throughout the day.
Learning dog welfare and individual habits.

Desired qualifications
GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and maths is helpful but not essential
Applicants must not already hold a Level 2 or 3 in Animal Care to be eligible
Our daycare centre isn’t on a bus route and is down a lane behind offices therefore a full driving licence is essential
Knowledge of basic animal first aid is helpful but not essential
Future prospects
Past apprentices have gone on to work at the Dogs Trust and set up their own businesses dog walking and dog sitting.
Training
Full training to be provided by the employer and KEITS at the place of employment.
The applicant will be working towards and gain a Level 2 Animal Care & Welfare Apprenticeship Standard.
The learner will be allocated an industry specific training consultant who will provide both remote and on site visits throughout the apprenticeship.
The apprentice will work towards an End Point Assessment (EPA) at the end of their apprenticeship
