Commercial Account Executive (Insurance Broker)

I’m working with a well-established, insurance broker in Leicestershire who are looking to appoint an experienced Commercial Account Executive to support continued growth across the East Midlands.
This isn’t a “replace and replicate” hire. They’re genuinely looking for someone to come in, take ownership of an existing portfolio, and build from there. The business is growing, and new business opportunities are coming in consistently, they just need the right person to help maximise it.
The Opportunity
· Inherit up to £300,000 commission income (flexible depending on experience and fit)
· Focus on Mid-Corporate clients, typically handling premiums between £50,000 – £150,000 GWP
· Blend of existing portfolio management and new business development
· Clients based across the East Midlands
· Full support from an experienced broking team and dedicated claims function

What You’ll Be Doing
· Managing and retaining an established commercial book
· Developing new business opportunities (plenty already flowing in)
· Working closely with the internal broking team to deliver strong market outcomes
· Providing strategic advice to mid-corporate clients
· Spending time out meeting clients, balanced with hybrid working
Office hours are 9–5, but naturally you’ll be out meeting clients regularly. There’s flexibility built in.
Package & Benefits
- Salary: £55,000 – £70,000 (flexible; they will always speak to strong people, even above this range)
- Bonus Structure:
- New Business: 10% of new income, paid quarterly
- Renewal/Retention Bonus:
- 100% retention – 1%
- 101–110% retention – 1.5%
- 110%+ retention – 2%
- Paid annually
- Pension: 5–10% contribution, Private Medical Insurance, Death in Service, 27 days holiday + Bank Holidays, Annual salary inflationary increases
What They’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a Commercial or Mid-Corporate Account Executive
- Comfortable handling premiums in the £50k–£150k range
- Strong relationship-builder with a consultative approach
- A professional who values autonomy but also appreciates strong internal support
