Overview
We are looking for a proactive and hands-on Warehouse Team Leader to support the day-to-day running of our warehouse. This role is ideal for someone who leads by example, thrives in a busy environment, and is confident handling daily queries while ensuring all orders are dispatched on time.
You will work alongside a team of six warehouse operatives, actively taking part in daily tasks while overseeing workloads and supporting the Warehouse Manager with team performance when needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all customer orders are processed, picked, packed and dispatched on time every day.
- Support the Warehouse Manager in coordinating daily workflows and manpower across the team.
- Act as a first point of contact for day-to-day queries within the warehouse.
- Work hands-on across all warehouse tasks, including picking, packing, Goods-In and stock movement.
- Support the Warehouse Manager with managing performance in line with company expectations.
- Ensure safe working practices are followed at all times.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient working environment.
Skills and Requirements
- Previous experience in a team leader, senior operative, or similar role within a warehouse environment.
- Confident leading by example in a fully hands-on position.
- Experience training team members.
- Ability to handle day-to-day issues calmly and professionally.
- Strong organisational skills with a focus on achieving daily dispatch targets.
- Good understanding of safe warehouse operations.
- Experience of using a Forklift or HLOP (licence preferred).
