An exciting opportunity has arisen through the creation of newly established Tutor Area Manager (TAM) roles at North Devon College, TAMs will work directly with their linked faculty or faculties to ensure learners are effectively supported through the college tutorial programme, enabling them to achieve the best possible outcomes and reach their full potential.
The roles will also provide an opportunity to work across the college, including collaboration on the Personal Development Programme and support for cross-college events and initiatives.
Successful candidates will be passionate about the impact that tutoring can have on young people and will bring a creative approach that inspires exceptional tutoring practice and innovation. The successful candidates will possess excellent communication skills, enabling them to build rapport with learners, parents and staff, drive high expectations and confidently manage tutoring provision across a broad range of curriculum areas.
We currently have two roles available, predominantly working within LHE and CEM. However, successful candidates may also be required to work across other faculties in line with college priorities and learner needs.

The ideal candidate
- Experience of being an exceptional tutor.
- Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Confident managing difficult conversations with learners and parents.
- Be enthusiastic, solution focused and passionate about the role of the tutor.
