You will be responsible for carrying out domestic cleaning services in clients’ homes to a high standard, including regular weekly and fortnightly cleans, with the opportunity to take on additional work as the business grows.
Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of residential properties, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and surface sanitizing
- Ensure all areas are cleaned to high standards, paying attention to detail in kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, and living spaces
- Use appropriate cleaning products and equipment safely and effectively
- Communicate professionally with clients to understand their specific cleaning needs and preferences
- Manage your schedule efficiently to provide consistent, reliable service
- Maintain a tidy workspace and ensure all cleaning tools are properly stored after use
- Occasionally assist with light household tasks such as laundry or basic cooking if requested by clients
Requirements
- Previous experience in janitorial, hotel, or commercial cleaning is highly desirable
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional attitude
- Ability to work independently while maintaining high-quality standards
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques and familiarity with various cleaning products and equipment
- Reliable transportation to travel between client locations (drivers preffered)
- Positive attitude, punctuality, and a commitment to delivering excellent service
- Willing to provide references
- Have appropriate insurance for self-employed cleaning work (essential)
- Be DBS checked, or willing to obtain one
- Be registered as self employed or willing to do so (essential)
This is a self-employed contractor opportunity, not an employed position. You will be responsible for your own tax, National Insurance, public liability insurance, business car insurance and other self-employed obligations.
The role is expected to commence mid-September 2026, with regular work available for the right person.
