Role Overview
We are looking to recruit an experienced, full-time, vibrant and professional Club Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our rural Members’ Club. The key aim of this role is to provide members with a consistently high-quality experience by achieving and maintaining excellent standards of hospitality, service, cleanliness and compliance. Working with an existing team of casual bar staff and cleaner, this is an ideal opportunity for a reliable, trustworthy and highly organised hospitality professional who has held a similar position and can work closely with the active Management Committee to support the continued growth and success of the Club.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management:
- Oversee the daily running of the bar and club facilities to ensure a consistently high standard of hospitality
- Be responsible for day-to-day business planning, deliveries, and the sale of alcoholic drinks
- Manage the control and preparation of food and snacks
- Ensure a safe, clean, hygienic and welcoming environment throughout the club
- Manage opening and closing procedures
- Monitor maintenance requirements and ensure issues are addressed promptly
Bar, Cellar & Stock Management:
- Undertake cellar management and regular line cleaning
- Manage cask ale care and quality control
- Control stock levels and carry out stock checks to minimise waste and variance
- Order stock, receive deliveries, and maintain supplier relationships
Financial Management:
- Manage tills, cash handling and banking procedures accurately and securely
- Monitor sales, control costs, and support the financial sustainability of the club
- Provide financial and operational reports as required
Team Leadership:
- Recruit, manage, train, supervise and support a team of part-time staff
- Prepare rotas, oversee timesheets, and ensure appropriate staffing levels
- Motivate and develop team members to maintain excellent customer service standards
Events, Promotion & Membership Growth:
- Work with the Management Committee to develop and implement policies and procedures that support the club’s operation and future growth
- Promote the club, events and live entertainment to members and the wider community
- Encourage participation and help grow membership numbers through engaging activities and high service standards
Compliance & Governance:
- Continually assess and monitor health and safety requirements across the club
- Ensure compliance with licensing laws and external regulatory agencies, including Environmental Health and Food Standards Agency requirements
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness and safe working practices throughout the premises

Key Skills & Experience
Essential:
- At least two years’ experience in a similar hospitality management role
- Strong experience in all aspects of bar work, including cellar management and stock control
- Hold a Personal Licence
- Strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Financial awareness, including cash handling and banking procedures
- Sound knowledge of licensing laws, health and safety, hygiene, and regulatory compliance
- Full driving licence due to the rural location of the club
Desirable:
- Experience in a members’ club, community club or social club environment
- Event planning and promotion experience
- Experience working with committees or trustees

Additional Requirements
Two references will be required, including one from the most recent position. Applicants should be educated to a recognised standard.
Working Hours
Flexible, including evenings and weekends – full time working.
Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
