Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated full-time childcare assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children in their care. This role involves engaging children in various activities that promote their physical, emotional, and social development while ensuring their safety and well-being.
Duties
- Supervise and monitor the safety of children in your care at all times.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that encourage learning and development.
- Assist with daily routines including meals, nap times, and personal hygiene.
- Foster positive relationships with children, encouraging their independence and self-esteem.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress and any concerns that may arise.
- Maintain a clean and organised environment, ensuring all toys and equipment are safe and suitable for use.
- Observe and document children's behaviour and development, reporting any significant changes to parents or guardians.
Requirements
- Previous experience in childcare and childcare qualification preferred.
- A genuine passion for working with children and helping them grow.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being able to take initiative when required.
- First Aid certification and Child protection (safeguarding) is advantageous but can be obtained upon hiring.
- Flexibility in working hours.
