We are now looking for a passionate and experienced Assistant Manager to join our Day Opportunities service and help us continue delivering outstanding care and support.
About the Role
As Assistant Manager, you will work closely with the Head of Service to lead a high-quality, compliant, and person-centred day service. You will play a key role in supporting the team, driving quality, and ensuring positive outcomes for people with complex needs.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you will:
- Support the day-to-day running of the service.
- Lead, coach and inspire a values-driven staff team.
- Ensure high standards of care, safety, and compliance.
- Champion independence, wellbeing, and choice for the people we support.
What You’ll Be Doing
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead and motivate staff, role modelling best practice and positive behaviours
- Build a strong, inclusive team culture rooted in respect, trust, and accountability
- Empower staff to take ownership, use initiative, and deliver person-centred support
- Promote staff wellbeing, providing guidance, support and reflective supervision
- Coach and develop team members to continuously improve practice and confidence
Delivering Outstanding Care
- Ensure high-quality, person-centred support that promotes independence and choice.
- Support individuals with complex physical and learning disabilities to reach their potential.
- Use Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) to proactively manage behaviours that challenge.
- Build strong, professional relationships with individuals, families, and professionals.
Quality, Compliance & Governance
- Maintain full compliance with CQC standards, legislation, and organisational policies.
- Carry out audits and drive continuous improvement across the service.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping and effective care planning.
- Safeguard the wellbeing of all individuals using the service.
Operational Management
- Support with staff rotas, administration, and service coordination.
- Assist with recruitment, induction, and workforce development.
- Participate in the on-call rota to provide out-of-hours support.
