Your Role
We are looking for an organised and motivated Assistant Parking Manager to lead Stockport’s Parking Enforcement and School Crossing Patrol services.
You will help lead Civil Enforcement Officers, School Crossing Patrols and supervisory colleagues, ensuring services are delivered safely, effectively and in line with legislation, council policies and local procedures. The role will involve overseeing day-to-day operations, providing guidance to staff, monitoring performance, responding to service issues and helping to improve the way we work. You will also work closely with managers, contractors, schools, colleagues and partners to support road safety and keep the borough moving.
About You
You will have experience of working in a parking enforcement environment and be confident supporting and leading operational teams. You will be able to plan, organise and prioritise workloads, use data to understand performance and make sound decisions in a busy service setting.
We are looking for someone who communicates clearly, works well with others and can manage situations where there may be challenge, disagreement or conflict. You will be customer focused, committed to road safety and able to build positive relationships with colleagues, contractors, schools, residents and other stakeholders.
About Us
Stockport’s Parking Service sits within Thriving Neighbourhoods and plays an important role in supporting safe, accessible and well-managed streets across the borough. Our work helps residents, businesses, visitors, schools and communities by encouraging compliance with parking and traffic restrictions and supporting safer journeys.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a visible and valued frontline service, where you can make a real difference to local communities. In return, you will be part of a supportive council with flexible working arrangements, access to development opportunities and the chance to contribute to continuous improvement across an important operational service.
