We are seeking a motivated, organised, and practical Vocational Subjects Curriculum Technician to support the delivery of our vocational curriculum across the school. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in ensuring our specialist learning environments are well prepared, safe, and fully equipped, enabling students to develop the practical skills they need for future education and employment.
Core Purpose
Working closely with teaching staff, you will provide technical and administrative support across vocational subject areas, preparing materials and equipment, maintaining workshops and specialist classrooms, supporting practical lessons, and ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements.
Key responsibilities

Prepare, organise, and maintain equipment, materials, tools, and resources for practical lessons.
- Support the delivery of vocational subjects by assisting teachers and students during practical activities where appropriate.
- Maintain specialist classrooms, workshops, and storage areas to a high standard.
- Carry out routine maintenance, stock control, ordering, and inventory management.
- Ensure equipment is safe, serviceable, and compliant with relevant health and safety regulations.
- Assist with risk assessments and help maintain a safe working environment.
- Support displays, exhibitions, open evenings, and curriculum events as required.
- Liaise with teaching staff to ensure resources are available to meet curriculum needs.
- Maintain high expectations for student outcomes.
We are looking for someone who:
Has practical skills and experience in a technical, vocational, workshop, or educational environment.
- Is organised, reliable, and able to manage competing priorities.
- Has a good understanding of health and safety practices.
- Can work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Has strong communication and organisational skills.
- Is committed to supporting young people to achieve their full potential.
- Has good IT skills and is willing to learn new systems where required.
Experience supporting vocational subjects such as Construction, Engineering, Food Preparation, Hospitality, Animal Care or similar practical curriculum areas would be an advantage, although full training will be provided.
