- Based in person in Newport Wales
- Hours 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday between 8am 6pm – with additional (paid) On-Call Hours
- SALARY: Up to £45,000 per annum
- Deputy Manager may be required to undertake a sleep-in duty, this will be paid at a rate of £65/£75 per night. 11pm - 7am
- TRAVEL: 0.55 per mile when using own car

CentrePeace Homes Ltd is a company operating in Bristol, South Gloucestershire, and Wales (Newport). We specialise in providing Residential Supported Living / Accommodation services to children and young people in care.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
· Experience of working to Ofsted/CIW regulations for Supported Accommodation 16+ and have the skills and experience to promote new systems and assist in the induction of new staff.
· The ability to work with the team to ensure the service operates according to Company Standards
· Ability to adhere and co-operate with the Local Authorities including the Environmental Health and Social Services.
· Experience within Children’s services with demonstrable leadership experience in managing teams in a Residential setting for at least two years.
· A level 3 Diploma in Children’s Residential or equivalent is essential so you will either have this or be motivated to undertake and complete it.
· A full clean driving license is essential.
RESPONSIBILITIES, Tasks and Duties
Supported by the RM the Deputy Manager will take responsibility for the staff team and ensure our young people get the support they need.
The Deputy Manager will assist the Regional Manager with management of the Home and maintain exceptionally high standards, provide leadership, support, and direction to their team.
The successful candidate will also need to be able to work with professionals and stakeholders from a wide range of external agencies.
MANAGEMENT
· Multi-Agency – ability to establish excellent professional relationships and work collaboratively with Local Safeguarding Boards, Local authority commissioners, social workers, their managers and placement teams.
· To keep abreast of developments within the profession including knowledge of legislation, Ofsted policy and practice procedures relating to Children looked after and Care Leavers
· To co-ordinate, attend, chair all staff and children’s meetings and agency meetings including care planning and updating of ‘plans’
· To establish a day-to-day culture of working practice that achieves the best outcomes for the children in a safe and secure environment.
· To ensure safeguarding of all young people underpins every decision made.
· To ensure that activities are planned, creative, stimulating and provide enjoyment and fun for the young people
· Support a positive and safe environment for every young person's health and education.
· Assist RSM in Quality Assurance processes in monitoring of daily / weekly /monthly tasks, record-keeping including the Quality-of-Care review
· Continue with own professional development
· Compliance duties - Finance / GDPR / Recruitment / Health and Safety / Property Management
· Designated Safeguarding Lead
· Assist with service tenders
STAFFING
· To ensure that all staff members understand their roles, responsibilities and expectations of the company.
· Leading and managing staff teams to ensure children are suitably safeguarded, good conduct promoted and best practice to promote a positive workplace culture.
· Undertake Support staff supervision and annual Appraisals
· Ensure staff are allocated with all mandatory and core training to carry out their roles effectively.
· Work with the Regional Manager to maintain training and Supervision Matrixes
· Manage, support and ensure the day-to-day tasks of support staff are completed and recorded in line with their Job description and daily check list.
· Assist with the administration and recruitment of staff; ensuring all appointments comply with safe recruitment best practice.
· Address any issues in relation to unsatisfactory staff performance or misconduct during staff supervision or other meetings
· Work with the Registered Service Manager to ensure all staff training is up to date and relevant to the needs of our young people in care.
