Due to continued business growth, we're looking for a Trainee Sprayer / Paint Shop Operative to join our manufacturing team at our Hoyland, Barnsley facility. No previous paint spraying experience is required – full training will be provided for the right candidate.
Working Hours
- Full-time, permanent position
- Monday to Friday
- 6:00am – 1:30pm (35 hours per week)
- 30-minute unpaid lunch break
- Some flexibility available
- Bank Holidays off
The Role
As a Trainee Paint Sprayer, you'll learn all aspects of our industrial paint process under the guidance of experienced team members. You'll receive full training in preparing, painting and finishing a wide range of fabricated metal components while working safely and maintaining our high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Learn how to prepare metal surfaces by cleaning, sanding, masking and priming
- Train to apply industrial coatings using electrostatic spray equipment
- Assist with inspecting finished products to ensure they meet quality standards
- Help clean and maintain spray guns, paint booths and associated equipment
- Learn the safe handling, storage and disposal of paints and coatings
- Work efficiently to production schedules while maintaining quality
- Record materials used and completed work accurately
- Receive training in operating overhead cranes and lifting equipment (where required)
- Work closely with colleagues across the manufacturing team to support production

Previous experience in manufacturing or engineering would be an advantage but is not essential, as full training will be provided.
