Job Description: Aircraft Component Technician
We are seeking an Aircraft Component Technician to join our Galley Division. This role involves hands-on repair, refurbishment, and overhaul of aircraft galley equipment and interior catering systems in accordance with Part 145 requirements. Work will include mechanical and electrical fault finding, component replacement, and functional testing of galley units used in commercial aircraft.
Candidates with aviation experience are preferred; however, technicians from engineering, electrical, mechanical, or appliance repair backgrounds with transferable skills will be considered and fully trained for the aviation environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Test, inspect, repair and overhaul aircraft Galley equipment and catering units
- Fault finding on electrical, mechanical and electro-mechanical galley systems
- Repair and replacement of components including heaters, motors, switches, controls, and wiring assemblies
- Basic PCB-level repair where applicable to galley control modules
- Refurbishment of galley structures, trays, containers, ovens and associated fittings
- Use of hand tools, test equipment and diagnostic methods to restore serviceable condition
- Completion of maintenance documentation in line with Part 145 regulatory requirements
- Working strictly to approved procedures, engineering drawings, quality standards and aviation safety regulations
Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
Essential:
- Engineering, electrical or mechanical experience
- Hands-on experience with fault finding and component-level repair
- Ability to use hand tools and test equipment confidently
- Recognised engineering or technical qualification (or equivalent experience)
Desirable:
- Previous aviation, aerospace, or aircraft interiors experience
- Experience working in a regulated, quality-controlled environment
- Exposure to galley equipment, catering systems or appliance repair
Salary & Benefits:
- Salary up to £31,000 DOE
