deVOL Kitchens is one of the leading and most highly regarded kitchen companies in the UK, with manufacturing and design offices based in Leicestershire, London, Bath, New York and LA.
We are looking for someone to join our CNC department to assist with preparing CNC programs for manufacture and monitoring progress through the workshop.
The primary role will involve interpreting technical drawings and cutting lists to produce CNC programs. You will be working closely with the Production department and will be working alongside our CNC operators, generally helping to oversee production in our workshops.
You will be required to use a variety of tools and programmes, primarily including bSuite/bSolid software for Biesse 3 & 5 axis machines, DraftSight and our in-house integrated manufacturing system.
As we have integrated our CNC & Production department, there may also be some requirement to create production drawings on DraftSight and producing cutting lists, using our manufacturing system. Experience with DraftSight or similar CAD programmes and bSuite/bSolid software would be beneficial, but not essential, as full training will be provided.
The successful candidate will be working on several projects each week, as part of a strong team in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Your job at deVOL will involve:
- Offline programming for Biesse 3 & 5 Axis CNC machines
- Interpreting 2D CAD drawings provided by the production design team
- Monitor various 3 & 5 axis CNC machines and associated tooling with the help of shop floor staff
- Ensure completed components and parts are sent to the correct departments in a timely manner
- Assist with overseeing material orders
- Developing programmes and working with operators to reduce downtime and waste
- Helping to refine processes and gain efficiencies during manufacture
- Producing production drawings and cutting lists that clearly and accurately communicate design details to the workshop
- Contribute to a range of development projects across the wider workshop environment
- Working as part of a diverse team to ensure manufacturing and development targets are achieved
Skills and Attributes
We would love you to:
- Have some experience using CAD software
- Have some experience using CNC programming software
- Have basic experience using MS Office, such as Excel and Word
- Have a keen eye for detail and be practically minded
- Be personable and friendly, with good organisational skills
- Be able to interpret and communicate product designs effectively
- Have an interest in manufacturing, production, and technical problem-solving
This role is particularly well-suited to those early in their careers who want hands-on experience within a the furniture manufacturing industry. Full training will be provided, with opportunities to develop technical skills as your experience grows.
