Internal Communications and Engagement Assistant
Salary: Scale 3- £25,242- £26,703
Location: Durham Constabulary, Police Headquarters
Hours/Contract: 37 Hours per week. Full Time. Monday-Friday
Closing Date: 5pm, Thursday 3rd September 2026
The Role
Provide administrative and practical support for internal communications and employee engagement activities across the Force focusing on force intranet content as well as supporting the delivery of effective internal communication channels by assisting the Internal Communications & Engagement Coordinator.

What You’ll Do

Manage and maintain content across “The Link”, ensuring policies, procedures, and forms are current, correctly version-controlled, and regularly reviewed including removal of outdated or duplicated information

Support commands and departments in publishing content that aligns with corporate standards for tone, structure, and presentation.

Assist in the creation and uploading of internal communications material, including news articles, bulletins, and updates, ensuring timely and consistent messaging across the Force.

To assist the Internal Communications and Engagement Coordinator with the planning and delivery of internal communication content and campaigns.

To assist with administration of the internal communications and engagement function, including content planning and gathering performance statistics.
What You’ll Bring

To possess A-levels/Apprenticeship in relevant area or admin.

Experience of working in policing or communications
