General Operatives - Full time, 40 hours per week (07:30-16:00 Monday-Friday)
Hourly rate will be commensurate with the skills, attributes and experience of the candidate and the level of responsibility of the post occupied.
Seymour (Construction & Property Maintenance) Limited in Hartlepool is excited to seek General Operatives to complement our existing teams on a variety of Construction, Civils and Groundworks projects across the Northeast Region.

- Current CSCS card
- Current UK Driving Licence
- Understanding and demonstrable experience of adhering to HSE/CDM regulations and practices
- Demonstrable experience of working on construction sites, ideally in groundworks and drainage
- Vocationally competent in a relevant trade

JOB DESCRIPTION
General Operative
40 hours per week (07:30-16:00 Mon-Fri)
Reports to – Site Foreman / Site Manager
General Overview – To work as part of a team on site, supporting the Skilled Operatives, while still under the direct supervision of a ganger and/or site foreman. To deliver projects to high standards of Health and Safety, whilst producing a quality end product.
· A range of construction duties depending on skill level and trade background (e.g. groundworks: drainage, concreting etc., or brickwork, joinery etc.)
· Work flexibly as part of a team with skilled and general operatives to ensure high quality work is delivered
· Operate and promote safe working within gang/s in line HSE/CDM regulations
· Ensure all works are carried out in line with approved method statements
· Discuss any changes or amendments to method statements with the Ganger/Site Foreman
· Carry out checks on all plant and equipment prior to use daily, completing relevant paperwork
· Ensure a safe place of work including general housekeeping
· Work to company values and respect the public and their surroundings
· Ensure site hours are respected and adhered to at all times
· Sign up to work permits before work commences
· Ensure that the working area is safe and secure at the end of each working day
· Ensure that the plant and equipment is stored safely and secure in accordance with company requirements
· Engage positively with company policies, procedures and training
· Other responsibilities commensurate with the grade of the post.
Candidate Specification (Essential)
