We are looking for an experienced Group Health, Safety, Compliance & SHEQ Manager to take full ownership and responsibility for Health & Safety, statutory compliance, and SHEQ operations across a growing group of businesses.
This is a senior, hands-on role covering construction sites, FM contracts, waste operations, depots and office environments. The successful candidate must have proven experience in both Health & Safety , and be confident operating across multiple businesses and sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Health & Safety (Primary Responsibility)
✔ Ownership of Health & Safety across all Group businesses
✔ Site inspections, audits, risk assessments & toolbox talks
✔ RAMS preparation, review and enforcement
✔ Incident, accident and near-miss investigations
✔ Compliance with UK H&S legislation and CDM Regulations
✔ Acting as the competent H&S advisor to Directors
Compliance & Licensing
✔ Management of all statutory compliance requirements
✔ Oversight of licenses and permits, including:
* Waste carrier & operator licences
* Environmental permits
* Operator licences
* Premises licences
✔ Management of ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001)
✔ External audits and compliance portals (CHAS, SMAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, etc.)
✔ Liaison with regulators, councils and enforcement bodies
✔ Training, competence and certification records
✔ Ensuring compliance with UK employment legislation
✔ Supporting Directors and Managers on people-related compliance matters
(This role focuses on HR operations and compliance, not strategic HR or culture.)

* Strong working knowledge of UK H&S and employment legislation
* Experience across construction, FM, waste or similar regulated environments
* Confident, organised and authoritative
* Comfortable challenging poor practice and enforcing standards
* Someone who takes real ownership and accountability
