Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Junior CAD Assistant to join our CAD team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring foundational support to the department, working directly under the mentorship of the department manager and will help maintain the daily output of technical drawings while developing their professional skills in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Draft basic blank floorplans and standard zone plans using AutoCAD.
- Accurately draw up 'as fit' and 'as wired' drawings based on provided site notes and project specifications.
- Design, format, and distribute the internal company newsletter on a regular schedule after review from the department manager using Adobe Illustrator.
- Assist with minor internal graphics jobs as required.
- Maintain organized files by saving all completed tasks to the designated shared drive for daily review by line manager.
- General administration to support the department and wider business where required,
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs (at grade 4/C or above), including Maths and English. (Required)
- A basic qualification or demonstrable coursework in IT, Graphic Design, Engineering, or a related technical subject. (Desirable)
Experience
Essential
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good computer skills including Microsoft Excel
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
Desirable
- No prior industry experience is strictly required, however must be highly coachable, eager to learn, and comfortable receiving daily constructive feedback on work.
- Basic, foundational experience using CAD software and/or Adobe Illustrator (experience from college or personal projects is acceptable).
This position is ideal for candidates who are meticulous, proactive, and eager to contribute to a well-organized CAD team..

Pay: £23,000.00-£27,000.00 per year
