Overview
We are an established engineering company based in Dover, Kent, and due to continued growth we are looking to recruit a Mechanical / Electrical Fitter (Site-based) to join our busy team.
Scope of the Job: Hands on working of labour in the field of mechanical and electrical engineering on site. The role will involve the installation, fitting, maintenance and associated works of mechanical and electrical equipment and systems, ensuring that the company meets its requirements and objectives within the policies and procedures for health & safety, quality, environment etc.
Location: South England (Dover HQ with working sites based across the Southern region)
Hours: Full Time – Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm Basic Hours
Job Tasks
- Ensure the required PPE is always worn onsite and, in our workshop,
- Embrace Mechanica’s four values and safety culture
- Receive onsite work tasks from the Project Managers, and read, sign and work to the risk assessment and method statement and safe working procedures
- Carry out Mechanical and Electrical fitting, installation and maintenance work as required
- Install, assemble, maintain and repair mechanical and electrical equipment and associated components in accordance with drawings, specifications and instructions
- Undertake electrical fitting and associated installation tasks within individual qualifications, competencies and approved/certified training
- Use appropriate hand tools, power tools and testing equipment safely and correctly
- When onsite, adhere to client working practices, site rules, health, and safety paperwork etc
- When utilising hazardous products, if any doubt, refer to the company’s COSHH data sheets for the products stored and utilised both onsite and, in the workshop,
- Receive workshop tasks from the Project Managers, and perform them to the safe working procedures
- Perform any other ad hoc tasks, as requested by the Project Managers.
