Job Purpose:
To ensure, develop and implement quality assurance policies, conducting tests and inspections, identifying issues that arise in production, process, or product, and presenting solutions. Ensuring all business and customer objectives are met whilst ensuring high standards of food safety and hygiene are adhered to. To comply with all Health and Safety legislation.
Accountabilities:
- To ensure all Food Safety, GMP and QA Verification checks being carried out online as specified by work instruction, HACCP and process control documents.
- Organise and control aspects Food safety documentation and HACCP procedure.
- Carry out checks on production line, fridges, chillers, and freezers.
- Maintain high standards throughout the factory so that the factory always remains audit ready, enforcing policies, procedures and standards in all departments.
- Issue and review process controls daily.
- Report issues to relevant departments and carry out investigations.
- Monitor quality of products.
- Prepare and conduct daily taste panels comparing the standard against the QAS.
- Collect and collate samples for shelf-life testing.
- Collect samples for laboratory analysis and arrange collections.
- Conduct monthly and daily glass and brittle & hard plastic audits and similar materials.
- Collate trial information and assist in NPD.
- Assist with specifications and updating of systems.
- Liaise with all departments across the site.
- Liaise with external contractors, raw material and equipment suppliers as required.
- Ensure that all relevant documentation is correctly completed and filed appropriately in a timely manner. Maintain a system of checking that paperwork is completed by your reports.
- Train operatives against procedures.
- Conduct audits throughout the factory against a standard, collating any non-conformances raised and compiling lists, then sending to relevant managers.
- Verifying and closing out any non-conformances once actions have been completed.
- Logging and trending of any data from tasks completed throughout the shift.
- To carry out any other ad hoc duties that may be required from time to time.
Qualifications and Experience:
· Effective Communication, listening, influencing and persuading skills at all levels
· Experienced in working in a food manufacturing setting
· Good knowledge of site activities or Bakery operations and the quality requirements of the business and customer
· Confident computer skills
· Good written skills
· The display of flexibility, self-motivation and initiative
· Good time management skills
