The Role
To safely and efficiently set up, change over, adjust, and maintain blow mould tooling and associated equipment to ensure the production of high-quality products that meet customer specifications. The role is responsible for minimising downtime, optimizing machine performance, maintaining tooling standards, and supporting production targets while adhering to health, safety, quality, and environmental procedures.
Responsibilities
Set up, install, and remove blow moulds and associated tooling safely and efficiently.
Carry out mould and product changeovers to meet the production schedule while minimizing downtime.
Prepare machines for production by setting process parameters in accordance with approved standards.
Perform trial runs and make adjustments to achieve product quality and dimensional requirements.
Produce a first-off sample to comply with quality standard
process adjustments to maintain optimum production efficiency.
Troubleshoot tooling, machine, and process issues to minimize production interruptions.
Carry out routine maintenance, cleaning, and inspection of moulds, tooling, and ancillary equipment.
Report tooling defects or equipment faults and coordinate repairs with the maintenance department.
Ensure moulds, tools, and change parts are stored, identified, and handled correctly to prevent damage.
Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing scrap, improving cycle times, and increasing equipment efficiency.
Maintain accurate records of tooling changes, machine settings, maintenance activities, and production data.
Follow all health, safety, environmental, and quality management procedures at all times.
Ensure good housekeeping standards are maintained in the tooling and production areas.
Work closely with production, quality, maintenance, projects and engineering teams to resolve technical issues and improve manufacturing performance.
Train and support operators in machine start-up procedures, basic troubleshooting, and quality requirements where required.
Comply with company policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and Good Manufacturing Practices (where applicable).
Participate in root cause investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring issues.
Assist in commissioning new moulds, tooling, and production equipment as required.
The Role
Bolton Plastic Components Ltd are recruiting Shift Supervisors.
The aim of this role is to lead and support an established team, to achieve set key performance objectives.
The role offers many opportunities and is part of our long term aspirations to improve overall performance and quality.
Reporting Structure
Reporting to Maintenance and Engineering Manager
Working Hours
36.7 hours per week (2 shift rotating pattern - Weekly Rotation)
Afternoons - 14:00 - 22:00, Mornings - 06:00 - 14:00.
During training you will be required to work 06:00 - 14:00
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £27,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
