Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Bank Support Worker to join our Children’s Residential Services team, specializing in supporting children with Emotional and Behavioral Difficulties (EBD). In this vital role, you will provide consistent, nurturing care to children in a residential setting, helping them develop essential life skills and emotional resilience. Key Responsibilities
Care & Support
- Provide safe, nurturing, and consistent care to children in line with their individual care plans and risk assessments.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people.
- Support children to manage emotions, behaviour, and daily routines using trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches.
- Promote independence, confidence, and life skills appropriate to age and ability.
Safeguarding & Welfare
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of children at all times in line with legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Recognise and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns, reporting in line with local and organisational procedures.
- Follow Missing from Care, CSE/CCE, and behaviour management protocols.
Behaviour Support
- Support children with behaviours that may challenge, using de-escalation techniques and positive behaviour support strategies.
- Maintain professional boundaries and respond calmly and consistently to incidents.
- Record and report incidents accurately, including ABC charts where required.
Daily Living & Activities
- Support children with personal care where appropriate, maintaining dignity and respect.
- Encourage engagement in education, training, hobbies, and community activities.
- Assist with meal preparation, household tasks, and maintaining a homely environment.
Record Keeping & Communication
- Complete accurate daily logs, incident reports, and handover notes.
- Contribute to care planning, reviews, and key work sessions.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, managers, social workers, and other professionals

Hours: Shift-based (including evenings, weekends, sleep-ins/waking nights as required
Pay: £13.00 per hour
