Overview
We’re recruiting a Project Engineer (Pipework / Support Manufacturing) to join a major, highly regulated UK energy infrastructure programme. Based in Bridgwater, you’ll provide hands-on engineering support to help drive pipework and support manufacturing progress-working closely with design, project management, construction and manufacturing stakeholders to ensure technical issues are resolved quickly and safely, in line with schedule priorities.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide engineering/technical support to the package project management team, including attendance at weekly/monthly meetings
- Collate and maintain a support tracker to record support book releases and design holds through key project handovers
- Manage change control relating to design updates during the manufacturing phase
- Lead and manage the Technical Query (TQ) process, including chairing regular meetings and driving timely actions/responses with stakeholders
- Ensure contract/project management systems are maintained to reflect TQ progress and resolutions
- Coordinate and manage engineering input to manufacturing handover requirements
- Provide technical input into constructability issues, as required
- Escalate technical issues promptly and present clear options/recommendations for decision-making
Requirements / Experience
- Track record of delivering engineering within a technically complex, dynamic environment-ideally within nuclear, energy, or another regulated sector
- Experience in a relevant discipline within pipework manufacturing / construction / engineering management
- Proven ability to deliver to quality, time and cost in a schedule-driven setting, with a strong focus on safety
- Confident stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence, facilitate and drive issue resolution across multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent communication, planning and organisational skills; comfortable managing multiple workstreams simultaneously
- Meticulous and rigorous approach with strong analytical/numerical capability
- Degree (or equivalent) in engineering, construction, or a related field
- Working knowledge of CDM Regulations
Desirable
- Working knowledge of French (advantageous but not essential)
- Working-level experience with relevant tools/software such as:
- Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- 3D design/review tools (e.g., PDMS, Navisworks or equivalent)
- Contract/project management systems (e.g., CEMAR, Teamcenter or equivalent
