Responsibilities
- Safely operate flatbed trucks and other delivery vehicles, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load, secure, and unload cargo efficiently, ensuring items are protected during transit
- Plan delivery routes to maximize efficiency and meet scheduled delivery times
- Verify shipment accuracy and complete all necessary documentation accurately
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve issues promptly
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections to maintain optimal safety standards
- Provide friendly, professional service to customers upon delivery, addressing any questions or concerns
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, with a focus on commercial driving and delivery operations
- Strong knowledge of flatbed loading and securing techniques for various cargo types
- Excellent driving record with a valid driver’s license suitable for commercial vehicles
- Ability to navigate using GPS devices and plan efficient routes under time constraints
- Good physical condition for loading/unloading cargo and handling equipment as needed
- Clear communication skills with a positive attitude toward customer service
- Familiarity with safety procedures related to commercial driving and cargo securement
