The Role
We’re looking for a Lead Engineer who’s excited to bring their skills and ideas to the table. In this role, you’ll support brewing and production requirements through effective engineering support, contributing to reliable operations and high‑quality product output.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Comply with all Health & Safety, food safety, HACCP and GMP requirements, adhering to site procedures and good engineering practice at all times.
- Act as Shift Lead, prioritising and coordinating site engineering activities in collaboration with Engineering Managers.
- Deputise for the Engineering Manager as required, ensuring continuity of engineering support.
- Attend and actively contribute to Site SIC meetings, escalating risks and improvement opportunities as appropriate.
- Carry out planned maintenance activities in line with site schedules, using the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to record all work accurately.
- Respond effectively to equipment breakdowns, working closely with Production and Engineering colleagues to minimise disruption.
- Maintain a proactive, problem‑solving approach, identifying root causes and implementing sustainable solutions.
- Install, modify or upgrade plant and equipment as directed, ensuring all work complies with food safety, HACCP and engineering standards.
- Complete monthly GMP audits, identifying non‑conformances and supporting corrective actions.
- Manage and monitor planned maintenance compliance, ensuring effective execution and documentation.
- Manage and maintain site calibration activities, ensuring instruments are calibrated to standard and records are kept up to date.
- Deliver clear, documented handovers between shifts to support safe and effective operations.
- Sengineering spares to support plant reliability and efficiency.
- Communicate effectively with Production, Engineers and other departments verbally and via the CMMS.
- Liaise cross‑functionally to understand site issues and support collaborative problem‑solving.
- Take ownership of engineering housekeeping standards, ensuring a safe, clean and audit‑ready environment.
- Conduct appraisals and performance discussions with team members in line with company processes.
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications & Technical Expertise
- Qualified in an electromechanical engineering discipline; completion of a recognised engineering apprenticeship preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of current Health & Safety legislation and safe engineering practices.
- Solid understanding of best‑practice engineering standards and methodologies.
- Demonstrated bench‑fitting, fault‑finding and diagnostic skills.
- Good knowledge of electrical and electronic systems, including PLCs.
- Experience in the calibration of site instrumentation.
- Previous experience within the food and beverage manufacturing sector is desirable.

Extra's
- Hours : 39 hours per week.
- Shifts : Rotating 3 shift pattern, 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm & 10pm-6am.
