Job Overview
We’re looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Chef de Partie to join the kitchen team at Park Lodge Hotel in Aberystwyth.
This is a full time, 40-hour-per-week position offering a great opportunity for a chef who enjoys working as part of a busy, supportive kitchen team and takes pride in producing consistently high quality food.
We’re looking for someone who can start as soon as possible and confidently take responsibility for their section while supporting the wider kitchen operation.
Responsibilities
As Chef de Partie, you’ll play an important part in the day-to-day running of the kitchen. Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing, cooking and presenting dishes to a consistently high standard
- Taking responsibility for your allocated section during service
- Ensuring food is prepared efficiently and served on time
- Supporting the Head Chef and wider kitchen team during busy services
- Maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness, organisation and food hygiene
- Monitoring stock levels and helping to minimise food waste
- Following food safety, allergen and health & safety procedures
- Assisting with deliveries, stock rotation and correct food storage
- Working collaboratively with the wider hotel team to deliver a great guest experience
- Supporting junior members of the kitchen team where required
Skills
We’re looking for someone who is passionate about food and comfortable working within a fast paced kitchen environment.
Ideally, you’ll have:
- Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or experienced Commis Chef ready to take the next step
- Good knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and kitchen operations
- A strong understanding of food hygiene and safety standards
- The ability to remain organised and work efficiently during busy services
- A positive, reliable and team focused attitude
- Good communication and time management skills
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings and weekends as required
