Recycling Delivery Driver – Grade E – Driving
Hours: 37 Hours Per Week, Mon – Fri, 09:00 – 17:00
Contract: 3+ Month Temporary Contract
Start Date: ASAP
We're recruiting a Recycling Delivery Driver to support the Council's Recycling and Waste Services team. This is a key operational role, ideal for someone reliable, physically fit, safety-conscious, and confident working in a busy outdoor environment.
About the Role:
As a Recycling Delivery Driver, you'll play a vital role in supporting recycling operations by delivering, exchanging, and collecting recycling containers from residential and commercial properties.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Responding to requests for new and replacement recycling containers, wheeled bins, boxes, and bags
- Delivering, exchanging, and removing recycling containers from residential and commercial properties
- Safely loading and unloading bins and recycling equipment from vehicles and storage areas
- Preparing recycling containers for reuse by cleaning and maintaining them
- Preparing damaged bins for disposal by removing wheels and lids and stacking materials appropriately
- Providing a reliable and professional service to customers and residents
- Working safely outdoors in all weather conditions while following manual handling procedures and health & safety guidelines
Requirements:
We're looking for someone dependable, proactive, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
You'll need:
- Full valid UK driving licence
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- Ability to communicate clearly in English
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks responsibly
- Good organisational skills and a reliable approach to work
- Ability to carry out manual handling tasks, including loading and transporting recycling containers
- Ability to travel to different locations within the County Borough
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Completion of required employment documentation, including:
- Confidentiality Agreement
- Criminal Convictions Declaration
- Contract / Key Information Document upon acceptance
Nice to Have:
- GCSE-level education or equivalent
- Knowledge of sustainable waste management, recycling, and environmental issues
- Ability to communicate in Welsh
- Experience in customer service or community engagement
- Experience using computer software such as word processing, email, and presentation tools
