Job Overview
These roles are part-time, working afternoon until evenings (until 6.30pm) Monday to Friday with the occasional Saturday. One post is 21.5 hours and the other is 22.5 hours a week.
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Care Navigator/Receptionist to join our dedicated healthcare team. This vital role combines front-desk and telephone responsibilities with patient engagement, ensuring a welcoming environment while facilitating seamless navigation through healthcare services. Duties
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, creating a friendly and professional first impression
- Manage appointment scheduling, cancellations, and reminders efficiently
- Answer incoming calls promptly, directing inquiries to the appropriate team members
- Assist patients with check-in procedures and gather necessary documentation for registration at the surgery.
- Maintain accurate patient records and update information in the electronic health record system
- Coordinate communication between patients, healthcare providers, and staff
- Support administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and inventory management of clinic rooms
Skills
- Proven customer service experience with strong organisational abilities
- Previous experience in a healthcare or similar setting preferred
- Excellent communication skills—friendly, clear, and professional in all interactions
- Ability to multitask effectively while maintaining attention to detail
- Proficiency with office software and electronic health record systems
- Compassionate attitude with a focus on patient-centered service
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and handle sensitive information discreetly
