About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Commercial Gas Service and Repair Engineer with full domestic gas qualifications to join our growing team. The successful candidate will primarily deliver high-quality service, maintenance, and repair work on commercial gas systems, while also supporting a range of domestic and renewable heating technologies.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a competent gas engineer who wants to expand their skill set into commercial work and modern renewable & low-carbon heating technologies.
The areas you will cover will primarily be Birmingham and surrounding areas.

Commercial Gas Service & Repair Engineer Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned servicing, maintenance, and reactive repairs on commercial gas appliances and heating systems
- Diagnose and repair faults on commercial gas boilers, warm air heaters, radiant heaters, and associated plant
- Perform commissioning, testing, and certification of commercial gas installations in line with current regulations (IGE/UP/1, IGE/UP/2, BS6891, etc.)
- Service and maintain domestic gas appliances when required (boilers, cookers, fires, etc.)
- Work on a variety of renewable and low-carbon heating technologies, including:
- Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR) systems
- Heat Interface Units (HIU)
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards
- Complete all necessary documentation, including digital job sheets, gas safety certificates, and service reports
- Maintain excellent customer service standards with both commercial clients and domestic customers
- Work collaboratively with the wider engineering and contracts teams
Commercial Gas Service & Repair Engineer Essential Requirements:
- Full Domestic Gas Safe registration (CCN1 + relevant appliances)
- Commercial Gas qualifications (e.g. COCN1, CODN1, ICPN1)
- Proven experience in commercial gas servicing and repair
- Valid ACS qualifications (minimum CCN1, CEN1, MET1, HTR1 or equivalent)
- Full UK driving licence with a clean or near-clean driving record
- Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Strong understanding of current gas safety regulations and building regulations
- Ability to work safely at height and in confined spaces (where required)
- Professional attitude with good communication and customer service skills
Commercial Gas Service & Repair Engineer Desirable Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience with renewable technologies (air source heat pumps, solar thermal, biomass, etc.)
- Knowledge and hands-on experience with:
- MVHR (Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery) systems
- HIU (Heat Interface Units) – communal / district heating systems
- Solid fuel heating systems (biomass boilers/stoves)
- Oil heating systems (OFTEC qualification preferred)
- Experience working on commercial catering equipment (desirable)
- Basic electrical awareness or Part P qualification
- IPAF / PASMA or working at height certification
