Head of Data & Insights - Snowflake
£75,000 – £85,000 + Benefits
Remote
Snowflake | SQL | Power BI | ETL/ELT | Data Warehousing
An established and growing organisation is looking for a Data & Analytics Lead to take ownership of its evolving data function and help shape the next stage of its modern data platform.
This is a hands-on leadership role combining data engineering, analytics and technical ownership, with Snowflake becoming a key part of the organisation's data environment.
You'll work closely with senior stakeholders across the business, developing scalable data solutions, improving reporting and helping establish how data is managed and used across the organisation.
The Role
As Data & Analytics Lead, you'll be responsible for the ongoing development of the company's data warehouse and reporting capability.
You'll be involved across the full data lifecycle – from integrating and transforming data through to modelling, reporting and delivering actionable business insight.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading the development of the company's data warehouse and reporting strategy
- Designing and developing data solutions using Snowflake and SQL
- Building and improving scalable ETL/ELT pipelines
- Developing robust data models and warehouse structures
- Creating and evolving reporting solutions using Power BI
- Bringing together data from multiple business areas including finance, operations, compliance and quality
- Improving data quality, governance and accuracy
- Working with senior and non-technical stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective data solutions
- Mentoring and developing a small but growing data team
- Helping shape future data architecture, tooling and best practices
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone with a strong combination of data engineering and analytics experience who is comfortable remaining hands-on while taking wider ownership of a data function.
You'll ideally have:
- Strong commercial experience with Snowflake
- Strong SQL skills
- Experience designing and developing data warehouses
- Experience building ETL/ELT processes and data pipelines
- Strong Power BI experience
- Good understanding of data modelling
- Experience working across both data engineering and analytics
- Experience taking ownership of data platforms, projects or technical solutions
- Strong stakeholder communication skills, including working with non-technical teams
Experience within an SME, growing organisation or evolving data environment would be particularly useful, where you've had the opportunity to take broader ownership rather than specialising in one narrow area.
Experience with TimeXtender or similar ETL/data integration platforms would be advantageous but isn't essential.
What's On Offer?

- Remote working
- Opportunity to take genuine ownership of a growing data function

This would suit a Senior Data Engineer, Lead Data Engineer, Data & Analytics Lead or Data Engineering Lead who has strong Snowflake experience and wants greater ownership of how a data function and platform develops.
