Job Title: Trainee Paralegal - Land Development & New Homes
Hours of Work: 09.00 – 17.15 hrs – Monday to Friday.
Salary: Dependent on experience.

The role:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Paralegal to join our Land Development & New Homes Team based at our Newark office.
We are seeking an individual who ideally holds a Law degree (desirable) and/or has relevant professional experience within Commercial or Residential Property Law.
The successful candidate will assist with a variety of property matters within the Land Development & New Homes Team. With regular client contact, you will support the progression of transactions and related casework, while gradually taking on increasing responsibility for your own matters. You will work closely with colleagues, clients and other stakeholders to ensure matters are progressed efficiently, gaining valuable exposure to the Land Development & New Homes sector.
The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively under pressure, manage competing priorities, and meet tight deadlines. They will be committed to delivering an excellent client experience and maintaining the highest standards of client care.
Key Responsibilities:
- To provide an excellent and ongoing service to existing clients.
- Support Partners and other Fee Earners in developing new business opportunities and maximising cross-referral opportunities across all offices and departments.
- Produce fee income in line with agreed targets and objectives.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of relevant legal, regulatory, and practice developments.
- Support Fee Earners with the progression of new-build plot sales, part-exchange and land development matters, together with associated casework.
- Prepare and issue quotations.
- Undertake property searches and assist with enquiries.
- Liaise with clients, lenders, developers, and other third parties as required.
- Draft and prepare standard contract documentation and correspondence.
- Assist with all stages of the conveyancing process, including exchange, completion, and post-completion formalities, such as Stamp Duty Land Tax submissions, Companies House filings, and Land Registry registrations.
- Ensure files are progressed efficiently and prioritised in accordance with deadlines and business needs.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure all information is recorded on the firm's case management system.
- Undertake file closure procedures in accordance with firm requirements.
- Work collaboratively as part of the wider team and provide support to colleagues when required.
- Undertake any other duties commensurate with the role.
Candidate Profile:
Essential Experience:
- Law Degree.
- Experience of working in a law firm in Commercial Property or Residential Conveyancing.
- Understanding of Commercial Property or Conveyancing procedures.
- High level of competency in using Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Desirable Experience:
- Competent in using case management systems.
- Solicitors Account Rules.
- Clear understanding of Money Laundering Regulations and general compliance procedures
- Previous experience of SOS Connect.
