Join our Area 9 Asset Contracting team and play a key role in supporting the delivery of National Highways' maintenance and response contract across the Strategic Road Network.
At Colas Ltd. we are looking for Business Support to join the team at our Strensham depot, WR8 9LJ. You will provide vital administrative, reporting and coordination support to operational teams, helping to ensure the efficient delivery of highway maintenance, incident response and improvement works.
You'll be responsible for producing reports and performance data, coordinating administrative activities, supporting operational planning and purchasing, and working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to keep our operations running smoothly.
As a Business Support your duties will include but not be limited to the following duties:

Produce performance data, analytical reports and monthly management reports.

Prepare business plans, presentations and ad hoc reports.

Record meeting minutes and maintain action logs for senior management meetings.

Provide day-to-day administrative support to operational teams.

Raise purchase orders and task orders.
-
Support purchasing activities, supplier liaison and stock management.

Order materials and parts in a cost-effective manner while ensuring engineering requirements are met.

Assist with onboarding administration, health and safety records, training records and HR reporting.

Maintain accurate records, documentation and operational paperwork.

Coordinate daily administrative tasks including document preparation, scanning and filing.

Support the monitoring of project programmes and assist with identifying corrective actions where required.

Assist with daily reporting, including hot cost reporting.

Liaise with internal teams to ensure operational information is accurately captured and maintained.

Attend planning meetings with clients and key stakeholders.

Build positive working relationships with colleagues, subcontractors, clients, emergency services and other external partners.

Promote continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance processes and ways of working.

Champion a strong team culture across operational and support functions.

Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) standards and company policies.

Undertake any additional duties appropriate to the role as required.
The ideal candidate will be highly organised and proactive individual with excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills. You'll be confident managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, with advanced Microsoft Office skills and experience producing reports and supporting operational teams. Ideally, you'll have experience within the highways industry, a good understanding of operational management systems such as Confirm, and sound financial awareness. Most importantly, you'll be a collaborative team player with a flexible approach and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality support while promoting health, safety and continuous improvement.

A salary of £24,000 and £28,000 (dependent on experience)
