Founded in 1958, Abels removals is a removals firm based in Brandon, Suffolk, United Kingdom. Abels are proud members of BAR (British Association of Removers) and our house moving teams specialise both in moving antiques and specialist items such as pianos, grandfather clocks, fine art alongside day to day household items and furniture, always delivering the utmost care and attention, ensuring everything runs smoothly and guaranteeing our customer’s peace of mind.
We are now looking for experienced, enthusiastic and reliable Storeperson with warehouse experience, looking for a new career challenge within the removals industry to join our growing team based in Ely.
This is a hands-on role, and you will be responsible for the smooth and efficient control of the Warehouse and maintain a high standard of warehousing skill. Demonstrate a positive attitude with customers, other colleagues and to handle furniture and effects in a professional manner. To assist and support the drivers and removal operatives where required.
Key Responsibilities:
· Handle, lift, pack, load and unload furniture, household, office and commercial effects correctly, carefully and professionally
· Ensuring all goods are clearly identified using the correct procedures
· Assisting with vehicle loading, reversing (as Banksperson), and equipment care
· Supporting drivers and removal operatives to ensure efficient operations.
· Operating forklift and reach trucks where qualified
· Ensuring that the vehicles and equipment are continually in a tidy, secure and well-maintained condition
· Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and security within the warehouse
· Ensuring accurate completion of timesheets, inventories, and all relevant documentation
· Completing company training, including furniture handling and ongoing CPD
· Delivering a positive and professional customer service experience
· Adhering to all Health & Safety, manual handling, and traffic regulations
· Ensure the security of the Warehouse is maintained, during the working day and at the end of the day
Essential
· Full Manual UK drivers licence (No more than 3 points)
· Reach Forklift Licence
· Excellent customer service skills
· Strong organisational skills
· Experience in warehousing
Desirable
· Previous removals sector experience
· Multilingual skills

· 40 hours per week (Monday–Friday)
· Occasional weekend work, times can vary depending on the job and can finish late on occasion.
