WE’RE HIRING | BUTCHERY MANUFACTURING ASSISTANT
We are looking for a Butchery Manufacturing Assistant to join our busy team at The Buffalo Farm , you’ll play a vital role in the production of high-quality meat products. This energetic position involves supporting the butchery process, ensuring food safety standards are maintained, and assisting with daily operations in a fast-paced environment. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will contribute to delivering fresh, safe, and delicious products to our customers.
This is a hands-on role within our butchery team, helping with:
- Assist with the preparation and processing of meat products according to established safety and quality standards
- Support the butchery team in cutting, trimming, and packaging meat items efficiently and accurately
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, adhering strictly to HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) protocols and food safety regulations
- Operate basic mechanical equipment used in meat processing with proper care and understanding (Harkin machine)
- Conduct routine quality checks, including weight verification and visual inspections, utilising basic math skills for measurements
- Follow all food safety procedures diligently to prevent contamination or spoilage during production
- Support inventory management by organizing supplies and recording stock levels as needed
Requirements
- Prior experience or familiarity with food production environments is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided
- Knowledge of HACCP principles and food safety standards is highly desirable
- Mechanical knowledge or experience operating processing equipment is a plus
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
- Basic math skills for measurements, portioning, and record keeping
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights, and work in a cold environment if necessary
- A proactive attitude with a commitment to maintaining high safety and hygiene standards
Previous experience working with butchery or food production machinery is preferred, although full training will be provided on our equipment and processes.
We’re looking for someone who is reliable, hardworking and comfortable working in a busy production environment.
