Dance Teacher Opportunities – Saturdays in Streatham, South London
WhizzDance is looking for qualified, kind and reliable dance teachers to join our Saturday team from September.
We are a friendly local dance school looking for teachers who genuinely care about their students, their progress and their wellbeing.
This role would suit someone who wants to be part of a team, build strong relationships with dancers and families, and help students grow in confidence, technique and love of dance.
The right teacher will support each dancer to reach their personal best, including in exam work, while keeping classes positive, safe and encouraging.
Classes: Ballet, Pre-Pointe, Pointe and Body Conditioning
Location: Streatham, South London
Day: Saturdays
Timing: 9:00am–3:00pm
Rate: £26–£30 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
Total per Saturday: £156–£180
This role includes preparing students for the final stages of their exam process in February.
Levels span from Primary Ballet to Grade 6 Ballet.
Ideal applicants
Ideal applicants would hold an ISTD DDE in Imperial Ballet or RAD RTS, with teaching experience.
We are open to transitioning over to the RAD syllabus for the right candidate. However, the next set of exams will need to be completed using the ISTD syllabus.
We would also consider applicants who are keen and committed, and currently working towards their DDE or a similar teaching qualification.
The teacher must be happy to prepare and support students through exams.
Requirements
Applicants must:
- Have experience teaching children and young adults
- Be reliable and professional
- Be able to commit to the full academic year
- Hold an Enhanced DBS, or be willing to get one
- Be happy to work as part of a team
- Have excellent communication skills
- Be able to build good relationships with students and parents
- Genuinely care about students, their progress and their wellbeing
- Support dancers in a positive and healthy way
Experience teaching pre-pointe and pointe work is desirable, but full training could be given for the right teacher.
