Local Gardener/ Groundsperson wanted near Malpas Area
We are seeking a groundsperson to work alongside our head gardener at a large estate based in Malpas.
Must have experience in gardening/ grounds keeping, with references from past employer(s).
This is a full-time, permanent position for someone who enjoys working outdoors. The successful candidate will have some previous grounds maintenance experience and be comfortable using a range of landscaping and groundskeeping equipment.
We would be looking for someone local, or near to the Malpas area.
Description of garden:
Large English country garden with varying species of flora, water features, dedicated cut flower section and an active large Victorian greenhouse.
Key Responsibilities & Skills Required
- Weeding, pruning, planting, watering of large beds in garden and greenhouse.
- Grass cutting using pedestrian and ride-on mowers
- Hedge trimming and pruning
- Strimming and edging
- Irrigation
- Weed control and general site tidiness
- Leaf clearance and seasonal maintenance
- Planting, mulching and basic horticultural tasks
- Maintaining tools and machinery to a high standard
- Working safely and following health and safety procedures
- Driver's license (required)
- Tractor driving (preferred)
- Good level of physical fitness and willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
