Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Fabrication Workshop Assistant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will support the fabrication process by assisting with cutting, assembling, and finishing metal components. Duties
- Assist with the preparation and setup of fabrication tasks, including measuring and marking sheet metal and other materials
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment under supervision to support assembly and fabrication projects
- Support TIG welding and welding processes, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times
- Help with the handling and organization of raw materials, components, and finished products within the workshop
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety guidelines and proper tool storage procedures
- Assist in the inspection of fabricated parts for quality control, ensuring they meet specified dimensions and standards
- Support team members in assembly tasks, including fitting, fastening, and finishing metal components
Requirements
- Basic mechanical knowledge with familiarity of hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
- Experience or training in TIG welding or welding is highly desirable
- Ability to read basic measurements and perform simple math calculations for fabrication tasks
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety and quality standards
- Physical ability to lift heavy materials, stand for extended periods, and perform manual tasks effectively
- Knowledge of sheet metal handling, fabrication techniques, and assembly processes is a plus
- Willingness to learn new skills and work collaboratively within a team environment
