Bradshaw Early Years Centre is a long-established childcare setting in Saltcoats, North Ayrshire, and we are looking for a dedicated Early Years Practitioner to join our friendly team.
We’re looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with young children and wants to make a positive difference to their early learning and development.
What we’re looking for
You will have:
- A positive, enthusiastic can-do attitude
- A Level 3 or above Early Years qualification
- A minimum of 2 years’ nursery experience
- Previous experience working within an Early Years setting
- A sound understanding of Curriculum for Excellence
- Strong knowledge of Safeguarding, Child Protection and the wider legislative requirements for working with children
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with children, colleagues and parents/carers
- The ability to use your own initiative and work effectively as part of a team
- A genuine passion for supporting children to learn, grow and thrive
What you’ll be doing
As an Early Years Practitioner, you will play an important role in creating a warm, stimulating and nurturing environment where children feel happy, safe and supported.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering rich, engaging learning experiences that support children’s individual development and milestones
- Creating a stimulating learning environment across both indoor and outdoor areas
- Providing exceptional care and supporting the individual needs of every child
- Building positive and professional relationships with children, parents/carers, colleagues and other professionals
- Promoting children’s welfare, health, safety and wellbeing at all times
- Following all safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures
- Working collaboratively with the team to maintain a positive, happy and safe environment
- Using your knowledge, creativity and initiative to help make every day a great experience for the children

Essential requirements
You must hold SSSC registration, or be willing to apply for registration upon employment.
A PVG check will also be required as part of the recruitment process.
