Ballathie House Hotel is seeking a talented Bartender / Mixologist / Sommelier to join our Food & Beverage team.
Nestled on the banks of the River Tay, Ballathie House Hotel is a four-star luxury country house hotel renowned for warm Scottish hospitality, an award-winning restaurant and a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced hospitality professional with a genuine passion for premium wines, classic and contemporary cocktails, Scottish whiskies and first-class service.
The Role
You will play a key role in delivering an outstanding beverage experience throughout the hotel, whether welcoming guests with a perfectly crafted cocktail, recommending the ideal wine pairing, or introducing visitors to Scotland's rich whisky heritage.
Responsibilities include:
- Preparing and serving premium cocktails, spirits, wines and beverages to the highest standard.
- Delivering knowledgeable and engaging wine and whisky service.
- Advising guests on wine pairings and beverage recommendations.
- Maintaining the presentation and organisation of the bar.
- Assisting with stock control, ordering and cellar management.
- Supporting the ongoing development of the hotel's wine list and cocktail menu.
- Delivering warm, attentive and personalised service throughout the guest journey.
- Maintaining excellent licensing, hygiene and health & safety standards.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience in a quality hotel, fine dining restaurant or premium cocktail bar.
- Has excellent wine knowledge; WSET qualifications are desirable but not essential.
- Has a passion for classic and contemporary mixology.
- Enjoys engaging with guests and creating memorable experiences.
- Has a strong knowledge of premium spirits, particularly Scotch whisky.
- Takes pride in attention to detail and exceptional presentation.
- Is enthusiastic, professional and enjoys working as part of a close-knit team.
